Without discontinuity there can be no becoming. Without disconnection and separation there are no entities to develop, nothing to become real for a time. Becoming creates difference, is created by difference. Difference leads to individuation, and to the demise of the individual. De-differentiation and differentiation produce discrete parts, but not parts of a whole. Becoming is only temporarily meaningful. It makes a glancing approach toward fact, towards stability. It is meta-stable, near equilibrium, either arriving or departing, but never completing its journey. If Being is the closed circle of the Ouroborus, forever completing itself, becoming is the spiral forever deviating from itself, avoiding identity, differing from itself eternally. Becoming has a loose affiliation with concepts but only occupies them temporarily.
